***********************************************

With Albert Fiskerne falling under his spell, and the girl Callista in his grasp, Jervil went to work, bringing to bear the accouterments of his laboratory, his growing mastery of runes, the minions possessed by his fellow psychic fragments, and masculine sorcery powered by a number of Runemotes. Somewhat in the pattern of the Bookbinding that inexorably drove him onward, the rat-man drew a network of compulsion on the blond woman's body, then transferring that into her mind so as to lessen the disturbing impact her appearance would have on her adopted father figure.  The exhausting process took days, during which the unfortunate woman remained strictly chained to one of Jervil's worktables. In exchange for her freedom from being committed to Maladyne's service, Callista would use her strength and skills to bring in a set number of acquisitions to replace herself and free up Jervil to pursue his other efforts. The terms and length of her compulsion were hinged on the continuing operation of the Fair Harvest Inn, and directly connected with Albert Fiskerne's well-being.

The "set number of acquisitions" is something I'm still considering, but it's somewhere between 12 and 60.

Also, look for an announcement about Rats in the Cellar's publication in the next few days. :plotting:

Callista was drawn using the wonderful imagery of Natalie at fetishfaerie-stock . She has been a joy to draw for 7 years. Thanks, Natalie!
Enjoy! =)

Note: Bookbinding and Demon's Due are a work of fantasy and fiction. The artist/creator in no way condones real mistreatment of this kind toward any woman or man, by living person, gremlin, plant, assassin, ratman, viscous fluid, programmed device, animated home furnishings, or otherworldly spiritual beings. Furthermore, the artist opposes the marginalizing and restriction of women in general by any institution, political and/or religious, including those which have individual women amongst their membership touting/promoting their own happiness within that institution as evidence that ALL women should feel the same way. This includes the religion I was raised in and which I have utterly discarded from my life over this and other issues.

Hmm, I think my doctor wished she'd had similar restraints available around the office the last time I'd ever needed to go in for a MMR vaccine as a kid, hated getting shots *that* much....
