"Every attempt?" Elina questions. Bringing the candle's flame to her mouth, she spins her upper body back to the Hellbinder. "Magnivolumin Pyromortis!" the Scholar shouts, directing the candle's small, flickering light into a cloud of burning flame that expands to encompass the massive form above her. The entire room fills with golden light and the roar of fire as the creature's ropey mass writhes in the incinerating energy.

This one was quicker. Emily looks good when she's acting mad as hell.

Oh, and with the exception of the four Luther-story images that I need to finish and fit into this chapter in a future rearrangement (kind of like I did with those five "What Elina Saw" pictures earlier on), this is the last of the images that I had stretched out and inked on those boards in the WIP postings of a few months back. That means, Ladies and Gentlemen, that we're really almost done with the chapter, though there are some cool and fun bits still to come--probably the ones that some of us are most looking forward to, actually.

As impressive as this display of pyrotechnics is, it could end up being " more show than go".
Elina's greatest assets have always been her knowledge and her intellect, and not her possession of great magic. The rapid depletion of her limited magical strength was what led to her capture by the zombies. Having used up a lot of her store fending off the tendrils of Helly's fists full of rope, she may very well lack the energy necessary to make her attack effective.Counting myself as one of the "some of us" referred to in the narrative above, I can only look forward with anticipation, and perhaps just a smidgen of impatience, for this to prove to be the case....
Or she'll escape....no, no, not again, dammit!!!
