Standing and hanging in her bonds, Elina feels the massive hand begin to shift and crawl crab-like about her shoulders, repositioning itself at her collar and below her throat. She realizes that keeping her final secret will require a different sort of submission. It is one thing to submit to overwhelming physical force, to stop struggling when the bonds hold fiercely and the strength to resist is both futile and gone. Next to the size and might of the Hellbinder, at the end of days of concentrated study and frantic minutes of panicked physical struggle, the Scholar's body is spent. Mere steps from safety and freedom she is now held fast, and Elina accepts this as the last breaths of resistance fade.

But to keep her secret requires something further of her, the submission of her mind beyond that of her body, to release and abandon her Scholarly desire to know. To persist in any personal pursuit of truth at this point, including the puzzling out of why the Hellbinder would remain ignorant of the location of the precious identity fragment it seeks, would likely bring total destruction to Dernhem. The Scholar herself is lost, but with her Uncle Anjerome's Bookbinding now broken, worse than the prospect of yielding physically to become the Hellbinder's pawn or plaything is to accept that she herself must never know the answer to the question. 'Keep your secret and take heart, Scholar,...' Elina recalls the Seeress' words scrawled on the cell wall.

Her thoughts are broken by the waterfall sound of rustling rope and a deep, cultured voice speaking arcane commands, and she opens her eyes to the beginning of a new nightmare.

I'm thinking that the finished publication will likely see another drawing of "Elina's Submission" added in between the previous image and this one. This is a critical juncture for the overall story as well as it is in Elina's storyline, and the help that I got from an insightful submission-conscious fan about how and what Elina might be feeling/thinking at this point only further urges such an addition. Regardless, after slowing down a bit to get the Rats 2 publication available (link below), I'm very much back in gear and the images are flying. The next one, however, is a bit demanding in the way of complexity and details, and may take me another day to digitally finish. =) Regardless, thanks for sticking with the story thus far.

As with Rats, Part 1, availability at Amazon.uk will follow soon, while Amazon.ca has yet to carry Rats, Part 1. There are eight bonus images, one of which was inspired/demanded by Tim's narrative (really delicious). =) At 158 pages, it's thicker than Part 1, too, and full of "naughty bits."

Elina was drawn with the awesome reference material provided by Emily at Feathered-pics :worship: . Thanks, Emily!=)

The reference I relied on here is also not currently in Emily's gallery, but it is a good one, and so are those I used for the images to follow.

Enjoy! =)

Note: Bookbinding and Demon's Due are a work of fantasy and fiction. The artist/creator in no way condones real mistreatment of this kind toward any woman or man, by living person, gremlin, plant, assassin, ratman, viscous fluid, programmed device, animated home furnishings, or otherworldly spiritual beings. Furthermore, the artist opposes the marginalizing and restriction of women in general by any institution, political and/or religious, including those which have individual women amongst their membership touting/promoting their own happiness within that institution as evidence that ALL women should feel the same way. This includes the religion I was raised in and which I have utterly discarded from my life over this and other issues.
