Before the door, the Magistrate pauses. At her silent will, the Spear of Retribution swallows up the magical power of the masking rune at her feet, and she turns once again to the massive metallic doors. As she considers a choice between knocking and simply forcing the portal open, the Spear warns her of sudden changes in the environment around her.

The cancellation of the rune has triggered other effects in the mock entryway, and as the metallic portal unlatches on its own and begins to open before her, Drea looks up in time to see a pattern of black, twisted cords descending from the dark ceiling above.
