Rose on the Run

This is another project completed during my recent, apparent "dearth" in activity on DA. This is a book cover for the novel Rose O'scarlett and the Vengeance of Cannonflash Jones, by Deviant ~Brawrloxoss

I read this story before doing the cover illustration, and it's full of fun characters, rich environments, and romantic piracy on the high seas. I know I'll get barbecued in comments because of this, but while I liked the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean," I didn't much care for the Elizabeth Swann character (I'm not a big Kiera Knightley fan). As a heroine, "Rose O'scarlett" is much more to my liking, and apparently based closely on a character from the author's rpg-ish pursuits. She's not pencil-thin, has the muscle to push around the average man and the curves to manipulate the others. Plus, she's in distress a lot, which is a plus.

Note: This was the last commission piece I'm doing for a while--until "Coils of Fate" is done, at least. And, assuming the appropriate parties are still interested when that time arrives, there's a line of commission works already formed. This is not to be discouraging, but a very realistic warning: While generally portrayed as a good thing, "Hope" can be a real killer, as it turns out.
