Pen and Ink. 11" x 14" (28 cm x 34 cm). About 34 hours.
At last, I have completed the follow-up for The Mouse Trap . Here we see the victorious mice planting the flag of victory on our poor 80s-garbed aerobics chick--I assume that's some kind of straw serving as the mast, with a lump of cheese serving as the stand in the center of her chest. And, yes, I did use the photograph of the American G.I.s planting the U.S. flag on Iwo Jima as a reference--I hope no one need take offense at that... I tried to keep this true to the "storyline" and geographics of the first one, with the table at her lower right, so that from this vantage point (through the doorway visible in the first one) we can see the table legs. Obviously, the Mice of the Rising Sun have been hard at work, and now get to surround, guard, and cheer over their captive. What's next? Well, while I have another image in mind, I'm certainly open to ideas. Enjoy! |
