Good Hell, the internet is slow this afternoon. This is the third time I've tried to submit this page, but things have seemed so bogged down...

SPOILERS AHEAD!! Well, she killed one of the plants, but there's still the other one to her left (off the right side of the page) and the big, bad guy behind her. Still, for those of you who were thinking she had given up too easily, or should have been able to rip her arms free of the grass, snatch the wand, and start blasting everything,... well, you and I were thinking along the same lines. However, for those of you who guessed that she would still lose,... well, perhaps this one will get away... Of course, we still haven't seen what these plants have in store for her--they're there to subdue her, of course, but in a fairly twisted manner. Maybe she'll escape it...?

Enjoy!

:wow: Fine piece, Captain! Love the expression and detail...! I also like the way she still looks sexy through it all! Otherwise, she just wouldn't be a warrior-babe!!

I must see the previous entries. My bet is on the babe! DOWN WITH PLANT LIFE!!! :shakefist:

Very Cool  ! You have a great eye for hot babes! But surely she can't lose to the damn geraniums, can she..? Can you be so cruel to make her lose to celery & cabbage...? Plants & vegetables are good for nothing (except health, salads, beauty, honey, oxygen, etc.) Other than that the plants must go DOWN!!! :angered: :shakefist: !!!

Thanks! =D I'm not a big fan of plants myself (wouldn't the "Circle of Life" work better if it didn't have trees and grass to roll through...? ;) ), so I appreciate your passion in the matter. All I can say (without letting the cat out of the bag) is that it's not just a bunch of plants she's up against--it's an enchantment placed on some already vicious plants by an even more vicious sorceress. So, if she loses, technically she's losing to another hot, sexy babe, and not to a clump of asparagus... =) "Cruel"? Of course I'm not cruel! I quote Emperor Commodus: "Am I not merciful?" :mwahaha:

OOOOh i really like this one...something about teh composition, the facial expression, how the big flower and the tendrils lead your eye to her face..something about all those factors makes me likey this a bunch!

oooh i just did a huge photo series, i should be getting it up on deviant art soon...when i have free time again. muaaahhh..

interesting choice with the bamboo/ anemone plant thing... I still think you should incorporate lillies.

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. It was a hard composition to put together. =) I actually messed around with lillies and the angel trumpet vine quite a bit, and just couldn't get the shape I wanted--well, I actually kept getting the shape I wanted to avoid, if you know what I mean. I'm interested in your photo series, too, as soon as you can put it up. =D

ZAP! The girl gets her last shot in (I assume). Great layout here - you have a way with non-standards that you make work. I've been looking over my own portfolio lately, and I find I have a very standard way of doing basic compositions, especially if its one or two characters (though I would defend my collages a bit more adamantly). Here you have action on several levels while still giving a good view of the girl's goods, so to speak...

You assume correctly (for the most part). This is all about removing her ability to fight back, one strength/attack mode at a time. The wand is obviously going to have to go (she's already lost the ability to aim it at this point). But my favorite images of this kind are coming up.

I am impressed with your ability to do collages--I don't feel very strong in that area, as we've discussed, but you are very good at it. Thanks for the compliment--this was actually a difficult one to put together. =) And I'm glad this one found its way onto M&M. =)

There's something about the composition in this pic I really like. It's dynamic and dramatic, yet calm. And the motif itself has, if you stop thinking about the rest of the series for a bit, a very optimistic feel to it. :D
All in all, I think this is one of your best pages so far. Even though I find the pencil shading on the stone gate/wall in the back just a bit too crude, hehe. ;) Well, definetly a :+fav: this one! :)

by the way.. You don't like using rulers, do you? :)

I use rulers once in a while, but I find that I end up "de-straightening" lines to accentuate certain things often enough that some alert folks notice it and say something about it. And that's totally cool with me. On this one I notice the slight asymmetry in the stone arch, and it bugs me, but the whole idea behind leaving the wall so blank was to keep the viewer's eye on what's really important here, and to save myself a little bit of time. Regardless, I'm really glad you found so much to like in this one, even if the wall bugs you. =) Thanks! And I hope you'll point out other things that bother you, as well as telling me, like you did here, what you like. =)

Yeah, talk about a contextual mishap--someone could look at this picture alone and jump to a very mistaken conclusion about the whole series... =)

Hehe. :) Yeah, the perspective and focus thing worked quite well. No problems on that part. In fact, just the opposite. :D
And it doesn't bother me that much anyway, hehe. But if I first notice something, I just have to mention it - which I'll keep on doing. ;)

Anyway, looking at it that way, it wouldn't really be a very mistaken conclusion of the series, would it? :D

The conclusion that she would spend the series kicking plant butt would be very mistaken. She's killed one plant and torn out some blades of grass at this point, and she'll damage another big guy plant in the future, while numerous roots and stems and blades hold and accost her. But, I don't want to give anything away here, so I'll leave it at that. =)

Keep commenting freely--you're not saying anything offensive to me. =D

 You have my vote for most original and applicable new word of the day: "de-bra-ing." With this award comes the understanding that it probably will be used many times in describing my art, because apparently I have lots of women to "de-bra" in my picture stories... Thank you! =) I, too, liked the determined look on this one. She wears it a couple more times before the end of the chapter...

I think you'd make a wonderful cheerleader--you have the determination, rallying, and chant-inventing skills to pull it off... =D

I think what everyone's missing here is that, in spite of being in the middle of a battle for her life, Avora's hair still looks great! In fact, I think it looks better up than loose! Admit it, the big plant behind her is actually her hairdresser. :P Great job on her eyes, too. She's really intent on blasting the plant plant in front of her. I wonder if she'll be able to do much more, unless the grass lets go of her wand, though. Personally, I'm rooting for the plants--where else are they going to get their next meal? It's not like the sorceress takes the time to water them, after all... :D

Well, yeah, we wouldn't want to mess up her hair, or break a nail or two! That would ruin the picturesque moment for everyone! ;) I'm glad you picked up on the fact that the grass still has a hold on her wand, and she can just barely touch it at this point--not able to grip and pry it loose. That'll be important, I'm afraid...

:shh: (secretly, I'm on the plants' side, too, but don't tell anyone...) ;) :shh:

Words cannot express how utterly bizzare yet awesome this composition is. If I didn't know the rest of the story I would swear it was the result of a bad acid trip mixed with Bacardi and artistic genius.

I'm cheering for her, but I refuse to be lured into your games again. My poor heart just couldn't take it...

 Quick, get the de-fibrilator...! This was a difficult composition to put together, actually. To be honest, the picture that came to my mind was quite different, and I had to draw on bits and pieces of it and merge them into this one so it would work. I don't usually do it that way--I like to draw the image that comes to mind, not force it. Regardless, I'm glad you threw "artistic genius" in that combination, so I could relate--the only acid I've done is heartburn... ;)

Keep cheering for her, but maybe you should get to know the plants' side of things, too, just to be safe... =)
