Description

For more information on the entire series, read the "'Demon's Due' Defined" journal entry here faile35.deviantart.com/journal… or the "'Demon's Due' Plus" journal entry here faile35.deviantart.com/journal… .

The Prologue is now complete, save for a bonus page I think I'll add for the publication. For now, however, the next page (the first of the chapter) is here:

"And now, Milady Maladyne, while I confess to foolishness, I now would that I were more the fool. I would not see as clearly as I do the terrifying likelihood that the mantle of this second woman will fall heavily on the shoulders of my own kin, the niece who looked upon me with trust. It is with dread and shame that I see how clearly the threads of Fate in her own life wind with calculated precision into a noose that hangs her future with the events now, by my hand, about to transpire.

May she, too, forgive me for these evils, but even if she should, will I ever forgive myself?"

For the upcoming Twisted Plot Part 1 publication, this will be the sixth page of the Prologue.

Enjoy!

Note: Twisted Plot and Demon's Due are a work of fantasy and fiction. The artist/creator in no way condones this kind of treatment toward any woman or man, by living person, gremlin, plant, assassin, ratman, viscous fluid, programmed device, animated home furnishings, or otherworldly spiritual beings. Furthermore, the artist opposes the marginalizing and restriction of women in general by any institution, political and/or religious, including those which have individual women amongst their membership touting/promoting their own happiness within that institution as evidence that ALL women should feel the same way. This includes the religion I was raised in and which I have utterly discarded from my life over this and other issues.

I confess to having been momentarily confused as to which of his Vilios nieces he was referring to when I first scanned the caption, undoubtedly because the glorious images of Elina at the end of Bookbinding were and are still lingering in my memory. I saw my error when I read it more slowly and realized that, of course, he was talking about Avora, at least this time. I have to say  that, however positive an influence Uncle Anjer may have been during his niece's younger years, he's certainly not doing nearly as well by them now.

On that subject, there's a small point that has stuck in the back of my mind.  It is probably completely unimportant, but I've seen Elina and Avora referred to as both sisters and half-sisters. Which are they, and if they are half-sisters, is that fact meaningful in any way?
